2 day - St.Katherine Monastery
After breakfast starting trip from Cairo to Sinai. Late arrival dinner and over night in Monastery area.
In the morning after breakfast visiting Monastery St. Katherine (In the time of Emperor Diocletian - end of 3rd beginning of 4th century AD - Christianity was a forbidden religion, and its followers were ruthlessly tortured. In one of Roma’s provinces, on the territory of Egypt, Maximin Daia was ruling. He fell in love with a woman named Katherine. He decided to diverse his wife and marry her. She refused his offer, and the consistent Maximin confronted her with 50 philosophers in hope that they would convince her that Christ, because he died crucified, could not be a God. But the wise Katherine managed to convince the philosophers otherwise and afterwards they themselves became Christians. Because of their betrayal they were tortured and later killed. Maximin became furious because Katherine wouldn’t change her mind, so he decided to kill her. He ordered a wheel with knives to be made, but when it was time to put this horrendous “machine” to work it disintegrated. Afterward Katherine was taken out of Alexandria and beheaded. Legend states that her lifeless body was transferred by angels to Mount Sinai. On that spot, where some monks found her remains, a monastery was built and it still stands today, hosting thousands of people every day).
During the day lunch will be organized in a local restaurant.
Afternoon departure to Cairo.
